I don't know what the record is for the highest price paid for a Santa Monica property, but if anyone pays anything near asking I have to imagine this will be up there at or near the top of the list. This location is really sweet and the lot is massive. The house (if you want to call it that) is obviously obscene but whatever...you can't take it with you. The square footage of the master suite alone dwarfs my whole house; pretty wild.

Any idea about the previous owner?
ReplyDeleteBased on the exercise room, the basketball court, and the huge underground garage, I'm guessing a sports star?
Pretty sure this is a new build... it was half completed and listed a while back, they ran into major permitting issues given that it technically sits half in santa monica and half in either LA or pacific palisades or something like that. Went unsold for a long time and now it appears they've figured out the permits, finished the house and listed it... absurd home in every way and I want it really bad :)

ReplyDeleteI really like your published post . It was very interesting and very impressive, I enjoyed the blog so much for showcasing such and eye-catching housing. If you have time try to check Patrick Hospes and Julie Matthewson : RE/MAX House Of Real Estate : Home .
ReplyDeleteThis is a new build. Old home was razed and the lot was empty for a long time before this mansion was built. Good luck to the builder selling it for $35M.
ReplyDeleteBrian Grazer bought the home next door or a few doors down and is gutting the house and doing what ever his designer told him to do.
